The Fourth of July is a classic American holiday. In the peak of summer, it’s the perfect time to kick back, go camping, enjoy a couple of drinks and bask in the sun. Enjoying the festivities of the Fourth of July from an RV has the flexibility of camping, freedom to go anywhere you please, and all the comforts of home.
In this article, we will list the best RV parks for the 4th of July. We’re looking for places that will balance crowds with seclusion, provide additional activities, such as fireworks, and provide all the amenities necessary for a successful camping trip over the holiday.

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina
The top of our list is the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina. We love this as an RV destination because of the plethora of activities available to its guests. It’s a perfect getaway for families, kids, and adults alike. They boast activities such as:

A huge upside for this RV park is that many of its RV parking spots are beachfront. Newport Dunes has three types of RV spots, two that accommodate up to 25 ft. x 40 ft and one type that accommodates 22 ft. x 25 ft. All the sites come with full hook-ups and a picnic table. Some of the sites have concrete pads, and some are dirt only.

Another beach destination, but on the other side of the country this time. Travel to Destin, Florida, to stay at Camp Gulf Park. You’ll find pristine and expansive white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. This is a great family-oriented RV destination. When you are a guest here, you gain access to a full activity center, a large private pool with a water slide, water sports rentals, luxury bathhouses, laundry facilities, and more.
In addition, Camp Gulf hosts multiple events for every holiday, so you can expect some fun surprises and activities with a fireworks display to cap off the night.

America’s Best Campground
If you are looking for a lot of variety from your destination, America’s Best Campground in Branson, Missouri, is the place for you. Located in southwestern Missouri, this campsite is loaded with amenities and activities for every age. Not only is the campsite itself bursting with fun 4th of July activities, but Branson is also one of the best places to be on the 4th. You can see shows such as Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, an ABBA or Beach Boys Tribute band, Magic shows, dinner theatre shows, and more.
Branson is also home to one of the larger lakes in Missouri, Tablerock Lake, just minutes from America’s Best Campground. You can rent a pontoon, cruise around the lake, watch fireworks at night and stop at some marinas for food and drinks.
Branson also has some world-renowned golf courses, including a hole recently designed by Tiger Woods himself. And for the ladies who prefer not to golf, there’s a 4-star spa as well.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort
Located 5 miles outside of Austin, Texas, the Austin Lone Star Resort would be a great 4th of July destination for any RVer. Austin has some amazing 4th of July activities lined up, including their annual Independence Day H-E-B Austin Symphony Orchestra Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks at Via Mathias Shores. If classical music and fireworks aren’t your vibe, you can go all-out-American at the Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic at the Austin360 Amphitheatre. D.H. Day Campground at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan is one of the most surprisingly beautiful and tranquil places to stop in the United States. Nearby towns Frankfort, MI, and Traverse City, MI both have large 4th of July celebrations. D.H. Day Campground is a small, heavily wooded 88 site campground. Staying here, vibes will enjoy easy access to the Dune Climb, the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, museums, and the historic village of Glen Haven.

What better place to spend our Nation’s birthday than in Washington D.C.? Cherry Hill Park is one of the closest RV parks to downtown D.C., making it a prime location to spend the 4th of July.
